In our couples therapy sessions, we work with our clients towards helping them improve their communication, overcome repetitive problems, and increase their marital satisfaction. In our sessions we address multiple problem areas such as family dynamics, finances, communication, sexual relations, affairs and infidelity, expectations, and attachment injuries. Our therapist treat the relationship of the couple as the client and remain neutral throughout the therapeutic process. Through using theories such as Emotionally Focused Therapy and Gottman Therapy, our therapists help couples recognize their negative cycles and break out of the dysfunctional pattern.
In our individual therapy sessions, every client is treated on a one-on-one basis with a therapist. In these sessions, we help our clients deal with many personal topics in life such as anger, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, marriage and relationship challenges, parenting problems, school difficulties, career changes, and much more. Through individual sessions , our therapists help individuals explore their feelings, beliefs, and behaviors, work through challenging or influential memories, identify aspects of their lives that they would like to change, better understand themselves and others, set personal goals, and work toward desired change.
In our family therapy sessions, we help you find new ways to manage struggles, conflicts, and challenges within your family. Sessions are led by therapists who aim to help your family learn new solutions to old problems. Through a systemic lens we help family members understand how each member's culture plays a role on the relationship. We view problems as patterns or systems that need adjusting, as opposed to viewing problems as residing in the family member.
In our behavior management therapy sessions, we work towards reinforcing wanted behaviors and reducing unwanted behaviors through positive reinforcement and structural changes. We also help parents and caregivers learn what to do before, during, after, and between episodes of problem behaviors.
In our grief therapy sessions, we support our clients through their grief and bereavement journey and help process adapting to a significant loss. Grief is not limited to feelings of sadness. It can also involve guilt, yearning, anger, and regret. Emotions are often surprising in their strength or mildness. They can also be confusing. One person may find themselves grieving a painful relationship. Another may mourn a loved one who died from cancer and yet feel relief that the person is no longer suffering.
In our premarital preparation sessions, we aim to helps couples and their families prepare for the marriage. Premarital preparation and counseling can help ensure that you and your partner have a strong, healthy relationship, which gives you a better chance for a stable and satisfying marriage. Our premarital preparation and counseling can also help you identify weaknesses that could become problems in your marriage in the future.
In our play therapy sessions, we utilize play therapy to help children express what is troubling them when they do not have the verbal language to express their thoughts and feelings. In play therapy, toys are like the child's words and play is the child's language. The positive relationship that develops between therapist and child during play therapy sessions can provide a corrective emotional experience necessary for healing. Play therapy may also be used to promote cognitive development and provide insight about dysfunctional thinking in the child.
In our geriatric sessions, we help older adults who may have difficulty with the transitions of aging to manage their emotions, find new sources of enjoyment and meaning, and find new support systems. We help people face their fears of death, if they have such fears, and deal with grief as friends and family members pass on. We provide support for family members who may be caretakers of their elder relatives, as it can assist them in dealing with their emotions and improve their communication.
In our teen group therapy we bring people together who struggle with similar issues, like depression, anxiety, or emotion regulation. We create a safe space for participants to connect and support one another, while learning beneficial skills from an experienced therapist. Group members often leave group therapy with increased confidence and improved communication skills. Most importantly, they’re grateful to have a welcoming environment to express themselves.
